Money isn’t everything!

As I’m sure you know it’s not only about making money in your business. It’s nice (very nice even) but it’s much more than that.

When we think about our work - our work makes up our days, which make up our weeks, months and subsequently, our years. So ultimately, this all makes up our entire lives.

If we love what we do, and do it in a way that is fulfilling to us, we end up living a happy and fulfilled life.

And that’s where systems come in.

“A goal is a result you want to achieve, and a system is a process that leads to those results.” James Clear, Atomic Habits.

Simply put, a system is a set of principles or procedures according to which something is done.

Rather than setting a goal every month to make 50 sales or get ten new clients, you can create systems that create the means to do this, such as consistent marketing, or email funnels that run on autopilot.

It’s about having solid processes in place that can do the heavy lifting for you, so that you don’t become the workhorse in your own business. No one wants to be exhausted and burnt out.

Don’t ditch goal-setting in its entirety, but focus less on goals and more on systems.

Focus less on the achievement, and more on the process, less on doing more stuff, and more on simplifying your work.

Get that right and you’ll truly live the life you desire.

In the last few years, I’ve seen some seismic shifts both in terms of the income my business has generated but also – and very importantly – the ease in which it has happened. This wouldn’t have been possible before, when I was overwhelmed and unclear about which steps to take.

This is what I’ve realised: when it comes to getting ahead fast, less is more. Simplicity wins over complexity every time. When I streamlined my systems, when I worked on getting one thing done, when I channelled my focus – that’s when things really took off.

Today I run my business from our chateau in south west France with my husband (who has been able to quit his high-flying job) and our two young children.

And while my life and business look like a dream-scene now, the story of how I got here isn’t any different to yours.
